
When you play stardew valley you get a quest in the journal that says, you found an ancient-looking object. could it be some kind of artifact from long ago? perhaps Gunther, curator of the local museum, has the answer. you are asked to go visit Gunther at the museum.

When you walk on the dirt paths in Stardew Valley you will find wriggling things like worms coming out of the ground like the picture above. Use the Hoe that you brought with you to dig on that exact spot. If you are lucky, you will find an artifact. If not, then find another spot with worms and start digging. Tips for searching for artifacts: You don’t need to bother looking for them because as the story and quest progress, it will become easier to find them.
For minerals, you will need your Pickaxe. Use your pickaxe to start randomly smashing rocks and continue smashing rocks until you find a few Geodes. Once you find the Geodes, take them to Clint the blacksmith. Clint will bash the Geodes open, and you may find a Mineral inside. Mining the mines is another choice. Yet, Geodes are far easier to obtain. They also offer a much safer way of guaranteeing you a Geode.
Where can I find Stardew Valley Museum?

Once you have obtained the Artifact or Mineral, head on over to the Museum. Enter the Museum with a mineral or artifact in inventory.

Upon entering, you will see a cutscene involving Gunther Gunther asked if you’d consider donating any new artifacts or minerals you find to the museum. He says he’ll compensate you by way of occasional rare goods. To complete the Stardew Valley Archaeology quest once the scene is done, you can speak to Gunther. Donate an artifact or mineral item to the museum.
