To start, you’ll usually receive this quest, when you are in town there is a quest that can be taken in front of pierre’s shop. Gathering Coal quest is an early quest in Stardew Valley that gets you out and about in the Mines and on your farm to collect coal, one of the key resources you need for crafting and upgrading tools. In this quest, you’re asked to gather a specific number of coal. You can find coal by mining rocks. It is also obtained by breaking open certain objects. It’s pretty straightforward. Still, it is really important since coal is essential for smelting ores into bars. It’s also needed for making various farm upgrades.

The quest will tell you the exact amount you need. Be sure to check your quest log for the details. Coal is mostly found in the Mines. If you haven’t been mining already, now’s a good time to grab your pickaxe and head underground.

Coal is a basic resource that you can find. It can be obtained primarily from mining a rocks. Killing a Dust Sprites also provides coal. You can also buy coal from the Blacksmith. Additionally, use a Charcoal Kiln or try your luck on panning. Coal may also be obtained in several other ways too.

Dust Sprite is a small enemy that found in the Mines of Stardew Valley, mainly on the frozen floors. These little creatures look like floating black puffs of dust and they are generally not very tough. They tend to appear in groups and, while they’re easy to defeat, they drop useful items like coal that can help you with crafting and smelting. Despite their delicate appearance, Dust Sprites add a bit of variety to the Mines’ challenges and give early miners a chance to practice combat without too much risk.

For tips, once you’ve unlocked the elevator in the Mines. You can save time by quickly moving between floors reset everything, where you know there are lots of rocks with coal. By using the elevator, you can jump directly to a floor that have easy coal. It is more efficient because this floor is likely to drop a good number of coal pieces. This method is better than re hitting the same floors and rock repeatedly.

After you get all the coal that needed to complete the mission you need to store it in the player inventory and meet the person who made the request to complete it. as shown in the picture the request was given by clint.

Go right from your farm to bus stop then right again to pelican town. From the center of Pelican Town, head east along the main road. You’ll pass by Pierre’s General Store on your right. Keep walking until you spot a building with a sign showing a hammer and furnace that is Clint’s Blacksmith Shop. Inside, you’ll find Clint hard at work, hammering away at the anvil. It’s hard to miss once you see the sign, and you’ll know you’re in the right spot when you hear the sound of metal clanging from inside.
